How do we connect Denison Church of the Nazarene with what’s going on in missions around the world?  Our missions auxiliary organization is known as Nazarene Missions International.  We meet the third Sunday night of every month to do the following –

  • Pray – We pray for the work of the Church of the Nazarene in over 150 world areas, including the full time missionaries, volunteers, and national leaders in each country.  We pray for specific requests we receive through the prayer mobilization line
  • Educate – Each month we learn what the Church of the Nazarene is doing in a different area of the world.  These studies usually include object lessons, reader’s theater, and music.  We also promote the reading of missionary books, Holiness Today magazine, and various NMI literature.
  • Give – We raise money through various offerings to support missions work.  Our offerings, combined with those of other Nazarene churches around the world, support nearly 800 full time missionaries, build churches, schools, homes, and hospitals, provide radio broadcasts of the gospel, and give life saving disaster relief.  In 2005, the Church of the Nazarene raised over $47 million dollars (US) through the World Evangelism Fund.
  • Deputation – About twice a year, we have missionaries back home in the USA come speak to us about their experiences.
  • Recruit – By ensuring we are a “mission-minded” church, it is our prayer that children and youth in our missionary meetings will make themselves sensitive to God’s call to vocational full time missionary service.
